DRY LANE BALL
« on: July 27, 2007, 04:24:09 AM »
There have been alot of posts about dry lane bowling balls. XXXL seems to be a popular choice for alot of people. But which ball would be best between Power Groove-Tropical Storm-ECT...

My son needs a decent dry lane ball and was looking at these, just wondering what his best choice would be.

A high durometer reading ... hence the "HD" in the coverstock's description.

Interesting! I wish I could try one of these but I don't know anyone who has one.

Yep the Hornet is very hard on a drill bit, my driller had said it was tough to drill but i agree a very good hard hitting dryer lane ball.

On fresher medium i use it to shoot my corner pins and it hardly moves, on fried mid lanes it moves plenty and works well.

Fluff, I understand your concerns. I have the same ones. It is always a crap shoot.

By the way, I use a very expensive Columbia Scout.

I guess ya'll have big money to waste on balls.. When a ball doesn't work it pisses me off and changes have to be made to the ball one way or another..  Changing the cover stock works sometimes but when it comes to extra dry and heads being dry I am dead in the water reguardless..  I hate that condition...

Thanks for all the responses. I think my son is going to look at the PG Dry R ball. He wants to buy it with his money, so we are just trying to help him find a cheap dry lane ball.
