Title: So what was that smell
Post by: Bowl_Freak on February 22, 2014, 09:02:19 AM
So went to bowling last night and started bowling, looked at the ball rack, and needless to say I saw 4 freshly drilled Storm Fusions. It smelled like a gum factory.

Yeah, the smell on those is rather potent, it hits you pretty hard when they come out of the box.  Wonder what it smells like at distributors or at the plant . .

My Zero gravity smell is barely noticeable but my lights out is potent

I almost asked a guy to put away his fusion because it made my mastermind smell bad :P

A fresh IQ Fusion is horrible... hopefully it mellows with age.

I knew where the OP was going with this as I was around the Tour Fusion's all last week and yes it smells nothing like Blueberry Muffin and it pretty much has a bad smell to it.

Worse than the lights out?  I can't imagine anything worse than that ball.

Yes, even worse than that... The IQ Fusion can dominate the atmosphere of a pro shop... the Lights Out, while unpleasant, didn't have the same potency in my experience.

The blower on the ball return blows the blueberry nastyness throughout the sitting area

I've got a Hy-road pearl right now that really stinks my car up with grape.

I remember over 10 years ago they had a ball with a blackberry smell (Blaze?)  that was so strong we couldn't take them out of the box and put them on display.

I think the strongest was the Trauma, I remember holding it and having my eyes water. Still to this day I can open my basement door and smell Big Red gum.

I've been telling people the fusion smells like headache. Nothing like blueberry muffin, more like flintstones chewable vitamins!!  My anarchy offended a number of folks when I had it also. Really would buy more storm if they didn't have any scents.

I thought the Crossroad was awful. The shop would stink like maple syrup.

+1 on the Crossroad...bowled great with it, but wound up selling it because of the strong smell.

Recently, the Cross Road and Fire Road have had the strongest scents by far. The wife banned the Fire Road from the house.

It's good to have a locker at the lanes. #housebowler

Saw some Fusions at city tournament this weekend.  I was using a Prodigy so the smell was similar, but I liked the Prodigy better.

The worst (or strongest for me) was the HRG (licorice).  My whole car would smell like licorice for days on end.  Maybe it was the Texas heat that made it so bad.
