Title: solid reactive

I am currently looking for a solid reactive, with a coverstock that will not track up early.  I am currently making ball decisions on how long I can use them. I have wasted to many dollars on balls that do not hold up on the lanes for more than 10 games.  Thanks for any input.  Also if anyone knows of any with short life covers please post those also.

What sort of maintenance are you doing on your equipment?  I can't imagine having a ball die out after only ten games

I am not saying dying, but heavily scuffed where I have to take 400 grit sand paper to them.  Ti messenger (red & blue) track dry heat, silver streak solid and the raging red fuze are the ones that I have had to do constant maintenance to and actually lasted the least amount of time for me.

FWIW I agree with LuvThatWhiteDot. That much tracking is EXTREMELY rare. I suspect you are bowling on very old and very beaten up wood or synthetic lanes. that should not be happening to any ball, no matter how soft it is. It normally takes, I'd guess, 25 games bfore a track begins to show. It should be 50-100 before one would even begin to think about re-surfacing such a ball.

FYI balls that flare very little or bowler's releases without a lot of revs will flare very little and such balls track in the same place. They will show wear sooner. The Dry Heat should flare very little and that might show wear, a definite track, earlier, but still take much more than 10 games to show it. I think something else is wrong.

This has happened at three different locations, so I am thinking they are softer covers.  I am just looking for something solid to go along with my:
monster slayer
ebonite low flare stinger
I can clean these and every 10 - 15 games run them on the spinner with the green scotch brite and renew it.

Actually I gave the silver streak to a co-worker who bowls at a location with new synthetice lanes and he had to get it re surfaced after 30 games.  It looked bad, tons of good size scratches an gauges.

definitely strange that ball would get beat up so soon.  Must be the lanes or
something.  I've never seen that happen like that.  Heck, my SmashR is at
about 100 games now and you can't hardly find the track on it.

I also have a demolition zone that I have thrown at all three lanes, and it is still in great shape.  Minor maintenance.  I would buy a bruiser, but most the pro shops I have talked to; do not think that the the pk18 is as good as on the older balls.  Anyone know anything about the black vendetta (is it's cover similar to the silver streak)?
