Has anybody bowled yet this year or heard any feedback. It looks like the scores are pretty Low after the first few weeks.

Dear prmtme13:

It may not be a direct answer to your question, but you may be interested in a response I received from state tournament director Bob Peters with regard to lane conditions ... and I quote his unedited comments ...

Bill:

It is not a "Sport" shot. The condition is not your typical "house shot " either. The condition that is used has been the same for four years. The results have ben different in every center used. Under todays conditions every panel (synthetic lanes) react differently. The age of the lanes, amount of traffic, manufacturer etc all enters into the picture. Month of the year (this reflects on the amount of humidity etc.)

I wish we could find a formula that the bowlers of taday could accept. We buy balls that are made to react according to our speed, strength and how the lanes are dressed. Don't really know anyone who sticks with one ball and is happy anymore. We don't practice, just go to the pro shop and find out what is reccomended for long oil, short oil, 36 ft of oil, 38 ft of oil etc.

I have offered the pattern to every center if they wish to use it for their bowlers to practice on year round. (As of today, not one center has asked for it to be used year round). Three centers have called this month to try and keep some of the bowlers happy and said they would offer it from now until the end of the tournament.

If you know of any way we can come up with something that isn't too dry, too wet, too long, too short, too flat, too much of a wall, not enough wall, with out of bounds, without out of bounds and don't forget to be sure and make it where I don't have to make any adjustments to my game, please forward that information to me and I would be more than grateful to use that pattern for our tournaments.

Last year I repeatedly was told that Jegel manufactured the shot and only Kegel players could score on it. Wrong again, it was the condition that I requested and did not have Kegel do it by themselves. I merely had them check to make sure the equipment in the centers can put down what I have asked for.

If I can be of any further service or help to you at any time, please feel free to request my input.
