Finger Problem
« on: September 22, 2003, 05:42:44 PM »
My misses has a problem with her middle finger at the last joint. Its right on the bend of the end joint of her finger.
Shes only just gone to finger tip (5 weeks) and loves it.However we bowled 6 games the other night and her finger got stuck in the grip on one of her shots and she said she felt a bit of a pop.
I know what your going to say as Ive said the same thing to her.Go and see her GP. Sawbones she wont listen to me. A couple of the guys told her that they had a similar problem when they first went to finger tip and it was just a common problem of putting lift on the ball with fingers that are not used to the task. I think she may have damaged it because its not getting any better and is now very painful. Our coach has told her to have a break for a couple of weeks and to see if it gets better with rest.
What do you think? have you had simmilar problems? should I try to get her to go to her GP?
She has very small dainty hands so it may be the fact that her finger isnt quite strong enough yet and needs to be strengthened.
Im just a bit worried as she loves finger tip and wont even contemplate using her conventional ball for a while and shes determined to play on Sunday and not let her team down.
We have a weeks holiday after that so she will have a weeks break, but i think she should start that break now as I know shes in a lot of pain when she bowls.
I know its a long post, but Im a bit worried about her. Any thoughts?

After much complaining she has decided to go and see her GP.
So I may be in the bad books for moaning at her, but at least I feel better and happier. So will she if the doc tells her its only badly bruised.
