Almost every tournament around here requires at least your last name on the back of the shirt. Personally I agree with them. Its purpose is for everyone else to know who you are.
Take the last tournament you were at for an example. Did you know everyone there? Most tournaments require you to change lanes each game. Usually the monitors are setup with letters A thru F instead of individual names.
Now, not to say anyone would cheat, but without the names on the shirts, how do you know the scores on the recap sheet match the person who was bowling. If a group wanted to, they could request to bowl the same pairs and manipulate the scores any way they wanted.
Also, it helps me to get to know the people a little better rather than just the guys I’m crossing with.
Of course, you won't be able to say that after you return from Vegas so enjoy the Anonymity while you can.
