Congrats to Jim Pratt!
« on: March 06, 2005, 05:12:42 AM »
Dyno-thane staffer Jim Pratt did pretty darn good for his television debut today at the Baby Ruth Real Deal Classic.  And he did it with plastic!

As part of the DT team, I certainly would have liked to see him throw the big hooking equipment.  But his decision to throw plastic reveals one thing about his bowling game... he throw what it takes to strike.  People are so often caught up with the latest and greatest hook monster that they forget the goal of the game.  To knock pics down. His best look was with plastic and it takes guts to throw that on television.

For what it's worth, that darn American Eagle ball wasn't the straightest plastic ball I've ever thrown.  Once it has a track, it hooks!

Congrats to Jim and a fine performance it was!

Tony- I had not seen Jim bowl before.  Really enlightening to see that you don't have to be a big cranker.  He really has a finesse game and I am sure he can crank it when needed.  Two handed (Brian Valenta) and now Jim with plastic, it really shows how versatile this game can be.

I, for one, was amazed, surprised and delighted at his poise and precision, considering it was his first MAJOR TV show. (He may have been on before, on local TV; I don't know.)
