Sore toe
« on: January 30, 2006, 10:30:03 PM »
While I loved Lind’s shoes in every other aspect I had a problem with them making my big toe sore.

I my power step into the slide my right foot pushes hard off my big toe. Lind’s shoes always seemed to pinch my big toe on the outside and I would have to put some padding in the shoe to protect it.

I went to Dexter shoes that at that time didn’t have a seem by the big toe on that foot and they worked much better.

But I recently got a new pair of SST 5 comforts and they have that seem and I’m back to having the sore toe again.

Anyone else have this toe problem? And what do you do to deal with it.

I think what you have is bowling's version of turf-toe.  Time and rest are pretty much your best remedies.  I've dealt with the same issue, though I have to admit my ABS Tour Ultras really helped.  The kevlar toe-cap doesn't allow my pivot foot to slip out, so I don't put stress on my big toe.

It hurts, but it's not terminal.  Just take care to heal for a while.
