I realize I am posting this in the wrong forum, but the PBA Forum is not getting much traffic now that the season is over.
Which PBA touring member do you think has the best "B" game? Incase you are unclear what I mean here.....every bowler has a line they prefer to play and the score best playing that line. Lane conditions often cause bowlers to go to a line that is not their line of choice (causing them to have to play their "B" game).
Despite all of the talk about him choking and not being able to get it done when the pressure is on, I have to say that the bowler that does best when they have to go to their "B" game is Chris Barnes. He seems to almost always try the line swinging form 15-16 out to about 11-12. So since he seems to play that most, I would consider that his "A" game. I have seen him switch to a deep inside line, swinging from 30-35 and still score extremely well. Not that playing that deep is his B game, because I have seen him move over and play the Walter Ray line really well also. I feel that he is able to make that move to his B or C game better than anyone.
Others that I have seen do really well getting out of their comfort zone, their A game:
Norm Duke-He seems to almost always play straight up the boards now, but I can recall him swinging very deep when the lanes call for it and he does that very well also. When I first started watching bowling on TV I always saw him play deep like that.
Pat Healey-I think he can play anywhere on the lane (most pros can), but he does it well from where ever he has to.
Ryan Shafer-I watch him bowl today and he is usually a few boards deeper and Barnes' A game, but I have seem him get way left and swing the ball over the left gutter and do extremely well in there.
Who do you rank with playing the best "B" game----or "C" game?
