Title: Span issues
Post by: Bowl_Freak on October 22, 2013, 02:38:49 PM
Does anyone else feel like they need to change grip/span every month or so? I'm going through a phase now nothing is feeling good in my hand. Went to longer span and felt good for week and couldn't get out of it the next week. Thinking of trying a semi grip span and see how that works.

start watching your diet a bit.  old saying "you are what you eat".   watch your liquid intake, especially your salt intake.   Fatty foods affect you different than "Lean" foods.  Water intake is a big issue with skin shrinkage and stretching.  Beer or soft drinks dehydrate, skin will shrink.   Mainly, maybe eat the same kinds of foods and drink the same kind of drinks each week for a couple of days before you bowl.

Idk I went back to a few old balls that were drilled "perfectly" for me...off my hand like butter, instant revs...and now i feel like idk the past 20 balls I have had done by a new shop were a waste...none of them seem to fit nearly as well...:( oh well haha

BF- find something that you get out of clean and doesn't tear up your hand and go bowl.  You're searching for something that isn't there.

BD- There are a lot of pro shops that can hit the lines, but some of them their idea of finish work is holding a bevel sander with two hands and running it in the thumb hole a few times.  Good bevel knife work along with finishing balls consistently is a very underrated art.
