If your pso drilled your span 1/16 " bigger and didn't tell you could you tell the difference? To put it simply could you feel a 16th of an inch increase
-
Personally, i cant feel 1/8" difference. But then again, everyone has their preference. I hear guys saying they can feel 1/32 short/long on their span and i always call BS. If you have a comfortable/relaxed grip, you cant feel the small differences. If you already have a stretched span, you might/could feel a 1/16 longer span.

Yes, I can.

I can tell because I don't use any bevel. Bevel is the best way to hide mistakes.

My “feel†is not nearly as sensitive as it once was.
Once upon a time, I had a ball that measured out exactly right, but I insisted it “felt†different. After scratching our heads for about an hour as to why, we finally measured the ball itself, and found out it was just barely legal, and almost undersize.
The span was right, but the ball was small, which threw off the “feel†of the ball for me. We redrilled it just slightly longer, 1/16th as a matter of fact, and then it “felt†right.
My span is really stretched (I know, not popular anymore), but that is what I learned with, and I just never could get used to the modern “relaxed†style.

It depends on how stretched my span is. When I use to throw a very stretched span I could easily feel 1/16 plus or minus. I still can with a more relaxed grip, but not so noticeable impact on my release.

I learned with a stretched span that was definitely too long. I went shorter to a relaxed span and I never felt like I could throw the ball as well. I've stretched my span back out to a point where it definitely doesn't fit in the relaxed category but I throw it great and have few fit/grip issues ever. I just need to work on my ring finger pitch as I mess up the cuticle if I throw a lot of games in a short period

Just a quick side note. I had my best tournament cash ever when a guy drilled out a Danger Zone for me, but shorted my span by over 1/8 inch. Never bowled good with the ball again, but took home $8600 for my weeks work.

Most people can't feel 1/16, but that's a pretty big miss.

You're not the only one. I have 1 ball with a shorter span in my Absolute Nirvana and that ball has paid for itself multiple times. I got that ball and 2 others at the same time, it's the only one of the 3 I've kept

1/16 yes
1/32, depends. I have a range of about 1/16 that words. So if in the short or long range of that doesn't matter. If it goes outside then yes.
1/8 is pretty significant. For me it all has to be right.

I have a pretty relaxed grip.
A 1/16th long I might feel, 1/16 short probably not.
We drilled for a US Open champ. He could feel if the span was off 1/32.

For me:
Ring finger: No. Middle finger: yes
-
I used a stretched out grip for years starting with my first finger tip ball. I was so overly stretched that I started developing arthritis in my fingers by my late 20s/early 30s.
Given my lack of flexibility with my bowling middle and ring fingers, I would definitely notice if it was long by as little as 1/16". it would probably have to be more than 1/16" short for me to notice that.
