A NIGHT OF HORROR
« on: February 06, 2006, 11:39:02 PM »
I generally do not spend much time reflecting on things I can not contol, until last night's FUBR night of carry. I do not profess to know it all by any stretch of the imagination, last night was the best example of no luck, no carry and no adjustment or change of equipment seemed to change the out come.

I begin the night with an open, pocket 7-10, no big deal, ball looked good to everyone (except me) I expected a 7 pin, light but there. I throw one other bad ball, a tug leaving the 4-6-7-9, in the third game. I have two opens in thirty frames and flush the pocket the rest of the night and shoot 600. That's right, a 600 series with one frame where I counted 6 pins the rest are all 9 counts, go figure.

I adjusted lines, changed hand positions, changed balls, to no avail. Everyone on out lanes were amazed at how well I threw the ball and could not strike. I have never been so physically drained let alone had an entire night of no carry. It was the hardesat mental challenge I've experienced. I've had nights where I have two excellent games and loose carry in one game, but never to the extent I suffered last night. Sorry for the rant, I needed to vent. Now with this still fresh I'll try again tonight, maybe thirty clean frames and another 600?
Who knows.

I left 36 single pins in 6 games of the city tourney over the weekend.

4,7,8,9,10  must have left 25 ten pins.  at least half were rock solid.

couldnt carry anything for 6 straight games.  sux.

Steve, do what a real man would do when faced with carry issues.....

...drill a new ball.

House Hack.  Nothing more.  Nothing less.  And, according to my therapist, that's not so bad.

Actually, 190 is what you can throw with 9/ for 10 frames and a nine count on the fill ball.

LOL... I actually had a night exactly like this last tuesday.  In the first 7 frames of the first game, i left one four pin one 7 pin, two 9pins, two 8 pins, and one 10 pin.  I carried the 8th cause i tugged the ball and went brookland .  Same thing though, all night, no carry, covered most of my spares, and shot 612.  But i threw the ball awsome all night,  I really hate nights like that.

John believe me if I'da had time between frames I would have, let's face it though  probably would not have been the answer. Got two newbs in the shop from headquaters, a Pure Energy and a Thing Returns. might be punching holes this afternoon.

Scott, fresh shot, no carry present, I mean no carry down present.

Pretty discouraging when you play smash mouth the pocket and go
X,10 pin,X,solid 7, solid 9

at one time John I was thing while nursing a Heniken of how to roll it and leaqve the entire back row, just couldn't figure that one out though and still flush the hole.
