Will these work?

Well, i was in the grocery store the other day and picked these up, some scotch brite pads.  Now, i know the one green pad will work, since it's one of those scouring/scruffing pads, but are the other ones with the sponge just as useful, and do they correspond to the same grit as designated in the FAQ post?  According to that the maroon is the roughest followed by green blue and white.  I wasn't sure if the sponge ones are the same thing as teh non sponge, just.......well with a sponge on it.

the ones with the sponge attached aren't as coarse and will leave nasty lines in your ball.

DP#, I am trying to learn something here with Andy...Are you saying that even though the ones with the spounge aren't as coarse (finer?) that they will still leave nastier lines in your ball? If so, how can that be?

If you stick with the ones by 3m, generally available in auto or woodworking shops, you will know exactly what grits you are getting.
If you go to other manufacturers, you won't have a clue.
I don't use them, and I'd suggest you don't either.

I use a green and a white one with the sponges,..I soak'em before I use 'em on the spinner,..work great. seems like the same grits as the ones without,..
