What to do?
« on: October 22, 2007, 07:22:48 AM »
I bowl in a late league here's my problem. I never really know what kind of shot I am going to get. If I bowl on a pair that had consistant bowlers shooting then usually I have an ok shot. Now lately, I have been shooting after total knuckle heads have been bowling. Well not knuckle heads just guys that are new just bowling for fun.Anyway half of them use really agressive dull balls b/c they can't hook it and the other half is throwing plastic balls. Here's the shot I am getting and unfortunately can't carry....The heads are majorly burnt. The backends are burnt on the inside say 10 and in badly the outside is a combo oil tap/burnt shot.If I play really deep I leave a flat 10 If I try up the trig I cross. I have tried just about everything I can think of. Can anyone give me what they would do or use in this case? Maybe I haven't thought of something and you guys can help. Thanks!

Quite the quandary.  You want clean through crappy heads, lots of read in the crappy backends and carrydown.  Maybe standing at the pin deck and throwing towards the foul line.

What about urethane with a matte surface?  Most of the urethanes are milder (comparatively) and shouldn't over-react in the heads but the matte finish should help it roll through the backends.  Play fairly direct.  What about a SBG or one of the new Angles?
