Condition help?????????
« on: July 06, 2006, 02:08:53 PM »
Ok guys. Here seems to be the condition I am bowling on, 42ft christmas tree....
just FLOODED in the middle.... backends are not the greatest maybe because of my speed??? but anywho I am playing around 6 to 8 board to get any reaction out of ball at all..... and there is a bunch of older guys that do not get near the revs on the ball that I do playing right up ten with passions, agents, and aces.... Are these balls stronger than what I am throwing????

how is this possible??? I am throwing a 35 micron sanded carbide bomb and barely getting to the pocket... it is NOT rolling out, it just flat out is not getting to the pocket....... I do know that there stuff is drilled strong and mine is drilled for length but should my revs not make up for that?????

Next how do I get to the pocket???????? I only have one option open in my eyes...... drill something strong?????? or keep bangin away????? only thing I have at the moment is a plugged Pearl Carbide Bomb........

I'll bet those older guys are throwing the ball in the 14 - 15 mph range compared to your 17 mph (in your profile).  Try slowing it down.  --  JohnP

getting me to slow down is like getting debbie not to do dallas...... but anyhow I took a green scotchbrite to my Carbide Bomb and it helped a little* bit. Not a whole lot but it was at least respectable last night....... after I got it going........ The BIG suprise of the night was my purple pro that I also scotchbrited........... 48 feet of nuttin but skid the KABLAMMY LEFT FREAKING TURN!!!!!!!!!!! Haven't seen that kinda movement in dam near 3 years......
I think I can get by without drilling that PCB, but I may just punch it out anyhow afterall it is MY favorite ball......

I tried for 5 weeks to play a breakpoint at 10-15 board, and it is just not there............I tried that line with the sanded Carbide Bomb and there was NO movement at ALL, not even a ripple. I cannot swing to the dry because there is not enough dry to bounce off of.......... I cannot miss my mark to the outside or my speed or my ball goes in the gutter...If I miss to the inside the ball does not hook at all.
The breakpoint is the 7-9 board at about 48 feet. and with my speed I blow right thru that most of the time.

Very helpful remarks so far but have tried most of them before posting this....
Speed ajustment is a no no for me as I just cannot slow myself down...I have even crowded the line as much as possible to make myself slow down.... to some extent it has worked but not consistantly.

Lorok

Thats my sweet spot on most coditions around here but it is just not there with the equipment I have at my disposal at the moment..I REALLY wish it was because the strike JP is at like 6 grand and this condition is making me look like a jackas that does not know the first thing about bowling...

A couple of things to try -- first, on your first two steps be sure your heel hits the approach before your sole.  Lower the ball in your stance, then be sure you reduce your backswing height also.  Don't muscle through the release, just concentrate on rolling the ball over your target.  These may not work, some bowlers just can't slow down, but they have helped a lot of folks and are worth a try.  --  JohnP
