I'm about to start on another venture-----head coach of Special Olympic bowling team in my area---I was wondering if anyone out there has coached special olympic bowling and should i just teach basic rules and fundamentals or should I teach higher level things like throwing a hook when i feel they have the basics down---This group is a little higher functioning group of special olympians

Always start with the basics and then move on from that.

It is best not to teach them how to throw a hook unless they ask U. I am a special olympic coach. I just teach them the basic and watch them get very excited. trust me its fun when they get a strike and then ask u how was that. I have taken my team to state the last 4 yrs and we have had a lot of fun. They can gey very mad or frustrated if they can't get some of the pins down. So take your time teaching them the basics and you and your team will have fun.

I drill A LOT of balls for special olympics bowlers.. I think the main thing for you would be to keep it fun, for the younger ones especially
