Bowling ball cleaner poll
« on: June 30, 2004, 01:07:35 PM »
Alright I'm curious as to seeing what bowling ball cleaner the most people use.  so if everyone would reply what their favorite cleaners are then i'll keep track and tell everyone what the most common cleaner is.  At least for this poll .

My favorite is Neo-Tac Ball Cleaner in a spray. As for the polishes and compound cleaners I like Track Magic.

91% alcohol right after a league session ends, and for maintenance I use both Liquid Nitro and once a month I use gritless cleanser.

Uh, Doug, what about polished solid reactives?

Using Acetone?

And rubbing alcohol?

Why?

For everyday cleaning, Simple Green.

For deep cleaning, Neo-Tac's Liquid Sandpaper, usually followed by one or two coats of Renew-It, depending on how much shine I want on the ball.

I believe Isopropyl Alcohol does not dissolve oil, and acetone is illegal, under any circumstances. But what folks do in the privacy of their home or shop is their business.

I swear by Neo-Tac's Hook-It for cleaning, also like its smell! (Am I peculiar or what?)

Never have found a polish that I like.

After leagues and in a hurry to clean instances... ebonite energizer cleaner

deep cleaning - Neotac hook it and renew it
slight polishing -  renew it

As most of my ball as Ebo.. I use the ebo line of polishers... (I've also used them on a brunswick monster green, track Freak and freak out with success.)

Alcohol is good to use on polyester balls, and thats it. Remember, alcohol will only disolve the oil that sits on top of the ball, and not the oil that the pores have already sucked up. Since polyester balls dont have pores, all the oil does sit on top of the ball.
