Sprained index finger
« on: July 08, 2004, 04:06:04 PM »
Hey guys I've been having problems these last two weeks with a sprained index finger (or it seems to be sprained). I'm right handed and there's lots of pain in the knuckle joint when i move my finger sideways to the left. I bought a Master grip glove a few weeks ago, and I'm wondering if the extra grip on my index finger is causing the ball to put more stress on it. Or is it something I'm doing wrong? What are common signs of this? Or is this common at all? Thanks.

Doctor time !
Who knows ? Go have it checked....the worst thing you can do is forget about it and who knows what you're doing...you may be making it 10x worse...then what ? You're out for the fall season ??  Go have it checked out, then you're covered

Hey Platinum,

The glove may be allowing you more friction or grab on the ball which is what it's supposed to do.  Typically if your index hurts, you're also releasing the ball off that finger or behind it, that's where the pressure would fall more onto with that hand position.  If you were to go around the ball more, you shouldn't feel as much pressure, but as Jeff sates, go see a doctor.

I used to tape my index real tight because of that pressure, in time I just started to go around it more to relieve the pressure.  Hope this helps explain some..

There are a many on this site that have medical expertise of one form or another. And all, including myself, will tell you just what Jeff and Rick did....GO SEE A DOCTOR, GET IT CHECKED OUT, IN PERSON.

Noone can diagnose a physical/medical problem acurately via the wonderful wide world of internet.

Maybe I shouldn't be the one to talk, with my backfround I took 3 days before going to the Emergency Room, and found out I was having a heart attack!
