Even though it was almost against her will, I did decide to get my g/f a new ball for Christmas, replacing her almost 20 year old Yellow Dot (that she loved so much, I might add)...

I went with the advice of those that recommended a weaker reactive ball, and purchased her a Storm Hod Rod... not Storm`s weakest ball, but certainly not their strongest ball either... designed for the light to medium conditions that she faces most often.

So far, the results have been encouraging... the first thing that happened was that she got fitted for the new ball, so it just fits her better than her old ball that was fitted God knows how long ago... and even though it is definitely a stronger ball than her old Y/D, it`s still very managable. She`s a one ball girl, so she`s gotta be able to pick up that ten pin with whatever she`s throwing, and so far, that`s been no problem still with the Hot Rod.

I think I might have shot myself in the foot though... if her scores continue to improve with the ball (and they have, she shot 181-224-231=636 in practice Sunday), I`m never going to be able to beat her.
