The only difference is the colors?
I wish they'd use a more flexible leather shell. Even if it's leather, it feels like a hard plastic case. I have the red and black ones.
The slide versatility is wonderful, unbeatable; the shoe "leather" wrapped around your foot feels like a prison to be endured.

I found your reply somewhat funny for some reason. :D I do agree the outside is a little hard, and I also agree about the slide soles....only thing I do with my soles is cut them 60/40 #8/#10 instead of buying the #9 sole....

After my regular SST8's recently wore out after 5 years and thousands of games, I switched to a pair of LE's I bought a while back as backups. From my standpoint, there isn't a huge difference but I like them.
As an aside, I've never understood the complaints about the harder SST8 leather vs. the Global shoes. Yes, they're a little stiff when you first get them, but like all shoes, they do gradually break in. When they do, they're very comfortable and supportive.
I do a lot of hiking, and if there is anything to complain about, it's hiking boots when they're new. But like any shoes, wear them for a while and they comfortably mold to your feet. SST8's are not any different.

Good looking shoes.....Not a fan!
I found my SST8 SEs very stiff. I ended up using an uncomfortable too tight set of Dexter SST5s medium width while my good looking Comfortable SST8s sat on the shelf.
Frankly I don't like the Velcro push off foot of any SST8s or comparable brand. I have had a Comfortable wide width Brunswick TPU and been fairly pleased except the Velcrod on push of traction soles. (come lose partially sometimes and scare me slightly).
Luckily I was able to purchase a beautiful pair of SST6s! 1/2 size longer than normal and medium width(fate of the Lefties today no wides in the mid range). First serious practice session today in a small money match and I had my highest set of the year!
I love the stable glued on not velcroed push off foot! I am still shocked that Dexter won't sell replacement Duratips and powersteps to allow ones local cobbler to repair!
If I was going to get an SST8 I would get the White and gold, more flexible or the Brunswick TPU! Very flexible also!

Have had mine for 8 months or so now; wearing them 2- 3 times a week since then.
When do they start getting softer??

I'm with Charlest, my SST 8 Black/red are super good looking and the slide is great but my feet hurt horribly most nights I wear them. I also have a pair of SST5 Sport shoes I bought a few years ago and my feet never hurt after wearing them. The SST 8's are very stiff and have been used enough they should start softening up. The SST 5's were super soft from the get go!!
