St Louis - SanDiego Bowl Ambassadors Update
« on: July 21, 2003, 06:58:22 AM »
Here’s all the information I’ve received so far.

John Wonders is letting Ballreviews field 2 teams.  This will give us a total of 10 teams.

Matches are scheduled at Dick Weber Lanes, Strike & Spare Lanes and North Oaks lanes.  We will be bowling 4 matches, 2 matches on Sunday and 2 matches on Monday.

To be competitive, teams need to have a composite average between 196-206.  I already have several people from the area willing to bowl, most of them with around 215 averages.  Averages are really immaterial though, this is all about promoting the sport of bowling.

Initially, the idea was to have city on city matches.  John has added St Louis to the group this year, hopefully they can add Milwaukee next year.  John would like to have people that would be able to travel to San Diego next year but that is really not a requirement.

There is NO prize money of any type.

I am accepting any ball reviews bowler, regardless of average.  Should I receive more than 10 entries, I will see about fielding additional teams or possibly rotate bowlers thru the matches forming different teams.

I’ve always said the personnel on this site are not your typical bowlers.  Prove me right.  We finally have some people who are dedicated to the game willing to help promote our sport.  They can’t do it alone.

I'll be there but with the San Diego Ambassadors.  Hope to see some BRs there as well.  Then I look forward to returing the favor when you all come to San Diego.

I will be there and am on one of the BR teams. (I think)
Been practicing to try and get up to the 179 ave. I started with last winter.

Main goal here is to try and keep up with/beat SrKegler!
Shouldn't be too hard, heard he was 3/4 the age of Sawbones!

SrKegler,

I think Thongprincess was wanting to come to ST Louis.  Going to the Bowling Hall of Fame and the Visionary plant will be great.

Any info on area hotels/motels ? Any 5 starers for cheapness ?

Not asking for much - a place to sleep, pool for wife & kid if they get bored,
no unwanted room guests.

Nicanor, he messaged me yesterday and I will be participating in St Louis.  San Diego next year, if needed, will be a breeze  I'll be leaving LAX Thursday evening and returning to LAX Sunday evening.

As PK said, any leads on hotels in the area?

We are staying at a hotel about 20 miles out of town.  i can get the hotel if needed.  Its a best Western and has a restuarant and a bar We usually meet in the bar in the evenigs after bowling or whatever the night brings and tell stories and experiences.  Its probably the best thing about the trip.
