Title: starting ball
Post by: ridethegutter on January 10, 2015, 09:36:56 AM
Which ball do you typically start league off with and what is your ball down choice? I usually start off with the Outcry and ball down to the 400a when the Outcry is too much. I am looking at either the Punch Out or Uproar to take the spot of the 400a.

I will tell you I have a punch out drilled 60 4 1/2 40 with no hole and that thing back ends like crazy.

1st ball out of bag is a medium piece
most of my stuff is pretty rolly, i dont have the hockey stick back end pieces, they just dont fit my game
take a look at a symmetric piece, like this one

good price for a great piece
has plenty of teeth, just arcing and continuous

I am spot on with Dave81644.

First thing out of my bag on a THS is a benchmark ball. Something smooth and controllable. Something I know how to adjust the other balls off of, so I am not guessing if and when I make a change.

I take a few shots to zero it in, then try a different ball (all during warm ups) to see if the other ball has a better look.

What other ball I try is dependent on the reaction of my medium hooking boring benchmark ball. If the lanes seem to be playing wetter, I go up, drier, will ball down.
