The one I like which is called Extreme is blue tinted and is alcohol based. It is no longer offered at Buddies because the company has ceased production.

It is not for use DURING bowling; only before or after.

At this point I Prefer Neo-Tac's Hook-It, but you still must be careful using it.

what about vise cleaners? anyone tried it?

Their "plain" cleaner is a very good one for after bowling cleaning, but it doesn't compare to LMB Extreme or Hook-It. It's on a par with Remedy, Knockout and Zapp-It. These are among the best of the water based cleaners, acceptable for use during bowling. LMB Extreme was/is also acceptable for use during bowling.

Hook-It and Clean n Dull are only for use AFTER/BEFORE bowling.

I have had really good results with Storm's Reacta Foam. It cleans the ball and restores the tacky feeling, while easily removing belt marks and scuffs.

Currently I am using the Vise Clean & Tacky ball cleaner with good results.  It's strong enough to do the job, but not toxic enough that I feel the need for gloves.

I have Vise cleaner. It doesn't say "Clean and Tacky".
I searched for "Vise Clean and Tacky" and nothing showed up.
Vise's own web site does not show it.
Can you point me to a reference web page or where you bought it online?
I'm curious about it.

I went to the Vise website, and it looks like it's their existing cleaner with additional labeling up in the corner.

It's just on the label and may not be the name.  I included it just to be extra specific for clarification and it did the opposite..  Sorry for the confusion.
