Favorite ball

Been watching all the posts.    Seems like everybody is trying to sell their bowling balls.  Must be a whole lot of balls out there that aren't very good.    Or Bowlers are being sold balls that don't fit their style or conditions.   That's probably a good reason.   A good proshop will sell anything to anybody.  Sales are the bottem line, or you won't be in business very long.

In all fairness though, most bowlers wouldn't know it they had a proper ball or fit or not.  Their skill level doesn't allow them to judge their fit or ball reaction to their release.    What an opportunity for the pro shop.    If you really work at a proper fit and ball to the bowler you'll go crazy.    So, the solution is to give them a proper fit (per whatever guru) and turn them loose.  It's all a guess.  Try to make excuses when they come back to the proshop.     Baffle them with BS and hope they don't come back anymore.

As long as bowlers stay uninformed or misinformed, business will go on as always.

I would guess most bowlers buy more equipment then needed. Since gone are the days of one rubber or plastic ball, most bowlers feel the need to buy new bowling balls more often. Many don't use proper maintenance on what they have, and when the performance starts to fade then it is on to the next bowling ball.

Information is everywhere these days, but understanding it all isn't as easy. No matter your skill level, or understanding of the game and equipment it can be easy to fall into the trap of the "next best thing". Want is always more enticing then need. So as long as bowlers continue to want more, and buy into the idea of the next ball being the answer sells will be fine.

If more bowlers took better care of what they had, and bought less then bowling companies would have problems.

Be good, or be good at it.
