Stockholm pattern
« on: May 31, 2011, 01:06:57 PM »
Had Stockholm tonight 35 feet, lots of volume in the front part of the lane.

GAME 1: Using my Desprado (pin over ring dulled to 500) Played 10 out to 9 or so going straight up the back of the ball, getting it down to the hook spot around 40 feet. As long as I got it down lane I was ok. Pattern started out very picky, didnt take big mistakes to create crazy lane reactions. By then end of the game the oil carrying down fast.

GAME 2: Grabbed my AfterMath Pearl (Modified Magical layout with the MB Swung 3 inches at 4000 abralon) ball doesnt hook much for me and I played a similiar shot as the first game just deeper on the lane 13 out 9 this held well until the end of the game. Pattern was a little bit more open now had miss room right of target, miss left and it was brooklyn all the way.

Game 3: Bumping in with the AfterMath pearl lanes still carrying down though, halfway through the game I bumped way in and found a decent look about 20 out to ten at 45 feet. stayed with this to finish the game

Game 4: still carrying down deep look I used for most of the third game went away. Just focused on spare shooting. At the end of the game I moved right and took my hand way out of it more or less throwing a lazy shot about 19 or so at the arrows out to about 15 as long as I didnt hit it at the bottom it would hold.

Gound it out for 178 with an open in the tenth finished with 783 after 4 games plus for the the first three games. High in the league was in the 790s. This pattern is about adjsuting and carry down if you can't handle both at the same time you will be in alot of trouble. Grinding on this pattern particularly in the first game is essential strikes are rare at the start.

If you can get guys to break down the outside of the lane for a few games you will have a nice look bouncing it off. We didn't do that at all tonight and we really messed the lanes up. A team a few pairs down sacraficed the first two games and went crazy the last two games because they had a nice easy line to play the last two games.

good info.  We hit Stockholm tonight.  Last week was Los Angeles.  Out of all the short patterns, I had a more decent look on Beijing and Los Angeles, shooting some big games too, 250 on Los Angeles and 240 on Beijing.  Interesting you started with the Desparado.  I tried to start with Urethane at first, but can't carry the corners and I end up putting it away.  But you are correct, I try and do the same, right up the back of the ball, and get to your breakpoint.

Good thing is, after tonight on Stockholm, we hit the medium patterns, than the long.  WAY too much friction on the short patterns for me.   Everyone is dreading the med/long patterns, and I think I'm the only one all giddy for them.  This is my first sport shot league, and it is alot more fun than I anticipated.

Keep the write-ups coming, I enjoy them
