Storm National Mixed
« on: August 10, 2015, 08:07:37 AM »
I'm going to Reno for a family weekend and saw that the Storm Mixed National is supposedly going on, but can't find any information and the website appears to be down. Anyone know if the tourney is running and if any proshops will be open?

It started on August 1st and runs through the end of August, takes September off, then starts again on Oct 2nd through early November.

I saw that same link, but thanks. I'm trying to see if any of the Pro shops will be open since I'll be in town anyway but the website is down and the tournament isn't even listed on Storm's event page. The only phone number goes to the NBS. Seems like either an afterthought or something that didn't happen, but I'll lay it off to poor marketing.
Thanks for the reply.

The Pro Shop is usually open when there is an event at the stadium, even if it's just a league sweeper. It won't be the pro shop like you are used to seeing during the Open though...

The pro shop at High Sierra Lanes(South Virginia Street across from the Peppermill Casino, not downtown) is decent.

There is also a pro shop at the Grand Sierra bowling alley, but it has changed hands a couple of times in the past few years so no opinion good or bad on it.

I'll be there this weekend and the weekend after. Keep in mind there is no 10A and 2PM squad this Saturday 15 Aug 2015 because there's another tournament in town.

PM me if you want to set up a random doubles/mixed team.

John Eberhard runs the pro shop at the Grand Sierra now. He is a great guy and a senior pba member. He used to be at Starlite until Bowlmor took over.
