Storm rolling thunder vs kr strike force lane rover

I have a 3 ball rolling thunder right now. Thinking about upgrading to a 6 ball bag. Which is better?

As someone who has been lugging one around for the past 8 years a 6-ball bag is more of a pain than it's worth. They're large and unwieldy both in terms of moving them to and from your vehicle and trying to navigate through the centers themselves. When something on it breaks I will gladly switch over to two 3-ball totes, but I'm pretty sure the damn thing is going to outlast me just out of spite. It's durable, I'll give it that.

Do you think 4 would be better then 6?

Yeah, they're much easier to handle as well. Of course it depends on how many balls you want/need to carry around too. Regardless though I would never recommend one of the 6-ball bags to anyone else.

If you are looking for suggestions, I always tell people three ball rollers are the best in my opinion.  They are easy to get in and out of my car.  For league I can carry enough equipment without needing a second bag.  They are easy to maneuver around the bowling center.  They might be under 50 lbs.

Once you go to 4 ball rollers, you double the width leading to maneuverability issues and as you get older, they become more of a hassle getting in and out of the car.

Just my 2 cents.

To be honest. My best experience was with:

3 ball tourney tote with shoe compartment
2 ball deluxe with shoe compartment
2 ball tote

You're ballin' too if they all match :)

U can do 2-3-4-5-7 ball combinations based on what you NEED to bring.  Always testing new equipment, I always had my league trio, plus a new ball or two to try..
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

I prefer the 6 ball Rolling Thunder. It's durable and has more than enough pockets. I usually use only the top and bottom sections to carry 4 balls, but if I'm bowling at a venue I'm not familiar with, I can always take the middle section for a couple extra options.

The advantages of a 6 ball roller over two 3 ball bags are:
 1) Smaller footprint in the bowling alley. Two 3 ball rollers take up twice the floor space as a single 4/6 ball bag.

2) Much easier to get in and out of your car. If you use a 3 ball roller, you have to lift the entire thing at one time. With the 4/6 ball rollers, you can take the sections apart with almost no effort and load them individually. Much less strain on your back.

3) More storage space for the "other" bowling items, like shoes, shoe brush, etc.

The downsides(as I see it) are cost as the 4/6 ball roller will cost more than twice the two 3 ball bags and if you fly with your equipment, the 3 ball bags are the way to go.

Great combo.  I use a 3 ball tourney tote and a 2 ball tote as a shoe/accessory bag.

If you are looking to compare the 6 ball Storm Rolling Thunder to the KR 6 ball roller. Compare them side-by-side. The KR bag is HUGE.

I would never by a tote. Everyone I ever see is either falling apart or has fallen apart. The people I know with totes go through them two or three times more often than I do with my 4 ball rolling bags. Totes are just cheap.
Balls: Motiv Forza GT, Motiv Primal Rage Remix, Motiv Ascent Pearl and Motiv (On The Ball) spare ball.. All made in the USA.

I have good and bad luck with both.  My current 3-ball tourney tote has lasted 5+ years.  My wife had three of the same that lasted 2.

Perhaps more substantial bags are designed to have a longer lifespan.  And I would generally agree bigger bags are more robust.  But if durability was the only concern, then we wouldn't be having this discussion.  There are pros and cons to each side.

I have several totes that I bought in the 80s.  One I use 2-3 times a week for league for the past couple of decades.  Yeah, it was cheap.  Cost me $15.  :)

My four ball roller that I bought for USBC Open tourneys, is basically destroyed after about five trips through airline handlers - zippers busted, zipper lining ripped out, plastic clips busted, etc.  I don't know how the totes would have held up.

So, for airline travel, my four ball roller lasted five years (one trip per year) and for normal league or car trip tourneys, my totes have lasted decades.

You need to see them side by side. Both are quality products with a 5 year or so warranty. I think the KR costs less, maybe $20. But compared to the Rolling Thunder, it's huge.
