Storm Sport Series plastic ball.
« on: March 10, 2005, 09:57:01 PM »
I've just gotten a soccer ball from my friend. The ball looks yellowish now, any idea how could I remove the yellowish thingy, and set it back to white?

Thanks!

Haus machine.  It's a resurfacer that some pro shops have.

I have no experience with any of my equipment being resurfaced by a Haus machine, but maybe if you had the soccer ball resurfaced, the yellow tinge might disappear.  Just a guess.

I had the same problem with my Baseball. One of the guys at the bowling center got a litlle lane stripper, diluted it, and my driller put it on the spinner and cleaned it with the stripper combo. Looked like new when he was done.

You might try the stuff they sell at the automotive supply to clean the plastic windows on covertibles. This is a wipe on/wipe off product so you should be able to do it yourself without a spinner. If you want to spin it cover the ball with a fine film of cleaner and throw in the ball polisher at the the lanes. It may just clean and shine it all in one.

Sorry Kid I thought he was looking for home remedies.Figured a $30-$40 resurface was more than he wanted to go on a freebie spare ball.

Resurfacing shldn't be a problem for me, jus that if the yellowish thingy is just a patch of oil, maybe i could use some detergent to remove it. anyway, if i use a chemical detergent to remove the oil, will it somehow spoil my soccer ball ? LOLs.
