Lane Certification Video!
« on: July 02, 2013, 10:20:02 PM »
Ok, I was able to get this one done tonight.  Took several takes, and eventually I ran out of time so I just had to go with the best one.  Wasn't exactly how I wanted it, but it gets the point across I guess.  I'll take any feedback you have to offer, REALLY appreciate your views, favorites, shares, subscriptions, etc.

And for some clarification, this is just over center certification, this doesn't include oil pattern certification.  Thanks again for anything you have to offer!

What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

Couple notes.  Sorry for the low quality, I took it from the front facing camera on my phone and apparently it doesn't film in high def.  And in the video I reference 40 thousandths as a tolerance, and that is in inches.

Informative.  You come across as a knowledgable guy who knows his stuff (what the hell happens when you post on here?  Kidding).

Improvements:

1.  Don't trail off your voice volume as you speak.  Gives the impression that everything you said before it doesn't matter to you.  If it doesn't matter to you, it doesn't matter to your audience.

2.  Don't talk while your back is turned to the camera.

3.  Have your tools set up on a table in front of you.  That way you're not going off camera to grab things.  Have a wide enough camera angle that we can see the table and tools as well as you.

All easily correctable.  I give this a solid B+.  Really not far off from some of the vids done by the professionals.
Long Gone also posts the honest truth which is why i respect him. He posts these things knowing some may not like it.

Nice informative video.
I like seeing behind the scenes...
Interesting seeing the tools used,
and the tolerances involved.

Nice video.  I haven't inspected a lane in over 30 years but it doesn't look like much has changed.  Not sure whether that's good, bad, or indifferent.

Thanks all!  Yeah not much has changed, in fact, USBC doesn't supply paperwork anymore, so we just keep making copies of the old paperwork, and at the top where you enter the date it still has 19__  I think some of our equipment even is 50 years old, but since they made good equipment back then, it's still in really good shape.

New copies of center certification can be found @ bowl.com.  Go to associations  click on forms and manuals,  look down right side  to find "centers requirements"
click on center certification app.   hope this helps

Oh ok, my mistake.  Haha, I was told they don't supply them anymore so that's why they kept copying the old ones.  I'll check that out, thanks!
