Does a polished ball carry more than an unpolished ball??

Does a polished ball carry more than an unpolished ball?? Just wondering what the biggest difference is in carrying the 7 or 10 with a dull or polished ball. I've know a dull ball burns up energy faster, but I'm afraid to polish my Icon 300 in fear I'll lose some hook on it.

It's all entry angle.  The polish will delay the reaction so the ball saves more for the backend, however, if there's too much oil, the 300 may slide too far for the condition.  On the other hand, if the condition suits the polished 300, ....it would work....

Too many variables.............

how do you tell if the lane conditions are right to shine the ball? then if it's not, then what, sand the ball or scotch brite it?
