crankers aren't bowlers, they are humchuckers.......throw, turn the crap out of the ball, and pray. Straighter is greater!

I differ....

I always try to keep my rev/speed in a good mix... straight is great on some lanes... and some hook is great, too...

I can not crank it I admit... but I can hook it

A stroker can be a very effective bowler by learning to release the ball with different hand positions, proper ball selection and being good at reading the lanes. By being observant a stroker can make adjustments to kick out corner pins as well as any style. The high rev players are fun to watch and can make the pins fly, but also are prone to washouts and odd spare leaves on challenging lane conditions. This is why you see many of the touring pros throwing straighter more often. With tough lane conditions straighter is greater. Pros are also very good spare shooters. A very good bowler is  accurate with both their first shots as well as spare conversions. My goal is to finish my set with no opens.

Crankers do best on a THS where there is a ton of area on the outside part of the lanes (spray area}. It's really spectacular to watch these guts chuck it out to the 1 board and have it boomerang back to the pocket. Lotza wow factor

We have several on our leagues. During the summer, they all got into the PBA pattern leagues and I kicked their butts

I agree Oddballs.  I've found that a lot crankers can tear a THS up!!!!!However, when we go to bowl Nationals or in my Jr days Junior GOld, they seem to struggle but with the straighter players"me" shoots higher than them and they cant figure out why..  Some crankers have spectacular games.  I feel that majority would rather see the ball hook 30 boards rather than making good pocket shots.  I  may be wrong though.

Sorry guys or girls, i was just trying to bust your ba!!$. This was just to a rouse of yo. i didnt mean any harm by this topic. I believe that all bowlers are created equal. straight guys struggle as much as the crankers and vice versa!

Straighter is greater until you need something called pin carry....then the straigties need a "Hand"

I think if you look at the PBA you will have your answer.  Many of the new players that come on tour learn very quick that playing straighter is probably the best approach 75 percent of the time.

Cleaner off the hand is greater too, unless jacking up the side of the ball has made a comeback while im not looking!!
