Strong downlane move
« on: October 06, 2009, 02:40:22 AM »
I know there are several balls on the market that make this claim. I'm looking for some opinions regarding strong downlane balls on med/heavy THS. based on OOB condition and simple pin up drillings, what balls do you feel make good on that claim. I've seen virtual energys, full swing, bw sting, clutch, c system make strong downlane moves. Also, should i be looking for higher RG balls with strong covers and high diffs (i.e. clutch, c system). i know most lower RG balls want to start in the midlane and smooth off the point, however, the VE seems to be fairly angular. thx

I typically do not endorse any balls under the Ebonite umbrella, however, the Bedlam from Columbia and 715A from Track really get the job done downlane.

not sure about the pin up but a VE with pin below the ring finger has a great look to the pocket for me and it isn't angular.

the 715A does look good as well. how does this ball compare to older track balls, specifically the uprising and rising se. given similar cover preps, would they be fairly close. the burn seems to be good on most med to light conditions. is it strong enough to get around the corner on alittle more than med... hey thanks for the info so far.... keep'em coming....

The Uprising was a very good me-heavy ball with great move downlane. It would be stronger than the 715A in my opinion. I loved this ball for that oil condition allowing me to go inside of other people.

I actually have one for sale, with a length flip drill on it right now. Check the buy and sell forums.

Burn, Uprising, Sideways, even the S75 with a touch of polish is a beast downlane.

The Nomal Pearl...

Serious WOW factor off the pattern with a simple pin up drilling I have on it....

Gravity shift if you can find one was a personal favorite.... for this type of reaction.

My brother has been throwing a Hammer Burn for a few weeks and that ball is strong on the backend with that pattern. Stronger then his Hammer Sauce and Track Kinectic Pearl.

I have a Jigsaw drilled on the same pattern and oob was ok, after some polish that ball was a beast. Length with nothing but hook for days on the backend.

(all above mentioned balls are drilled with the pin above the right finger and the cg in the palm. With the mb next to the thumb or slighlty right of it. approx 5.5" x 5" x 5.5" maybe minus very little on the pin and mb)

Without a doubt, the Reign from Storm...easily one of the biggest downlane moves i have ever seen.
