I know during the month of May, when I attend Nationals, you can hang meat in the bowling facilities.  Another tournament I go to in Vegas has changed venues from The Orleans to South Point.  Does anyone know if the bowling centers warm up any during January or is it still a icebox?

Personally I get warm bowling at South point both in the regular bowling center and the arena. I wish there were fans in the arena

In general here in the desert southwest the hotter it is outside (up to a point after goes over 115 nearly impossible to keep it cold inside in a bowling alley) often the colder it will be indoors in public areas as the AC never really turns off during the day (unless you are in people's homes where if don't get used to 78 to 80 degrees indoors in summer you have $500 a month electric bills).  January in Phoenix and assuming Vegas too is about like mid to late fall in most of the rest of the country outside.  Don't know South point if had to guess I bet it won't be as cold as in May.  Vegas in general even more than Phoenix is big on keeping it really cool inside for the tourists for gaming, etc around the summer time in my experience.

Bowled nationals in Vegas in 2017 in March it was warmer inside then I expected.  The air vents weren't blowing down in the bowlers area the vents blow at the scoreboard and pin setters. The other set blows down above the spectator seating. I wouldn't have wanted to bowl later when the temps outside were warmer triple digits

Going to be here for the military tournament in January is the pro shop any good?

I've been going to JB Bowling Supply in Henderson right by Sunset Station about a 15-20 min drive depending on traffic.

I know a handful of people who liked Johnny D at South Point but he recently left there and is now drilling at JB Bowling Supply

We have run an annual tournament for over 10 years at South Point, Johnny D (now at JB Bowling Supply) is the best in the business. He would drill for guys from all over the world, and they would wait to come to Vegas to get new equipment from him. Class guy and he knows ball motion and how it applies to lane conditions better than anyone I’ve met. If you have not met him, worth seeking out.

It is always on the cold side of room temp, where u can always feel the A/C and a breeze.

I don't mind it at all cause if it were hotter I'd be sticking in the ball and on the approach.

A little cold beats a little hot. Wear an extra undershirt and have a beer!
