What is the strongest hooking ball you have ever personally thrown and how was it drilled?
Pesonally mine is the Raging Inferno-pin 2-3 stacked.
--------------------
EVERY PIN COUNTS!
-
I cant answer this because it would vary due to the lane conditions being bowled on. A really strong ball on dry lanes might act like a marshmellow while a weaker ball would finish better.

I just want 2C was'zzub.

Shur-D back in the mid 70's........I think it was about a 52 hardness (before it melted).

for me would be the fear factor
-
I think you're asking the wrong question.
On dry lanes,a ball like the Power Groove or the Jekyl or the Sonic-X Pearl will have a lot more power and backend than a Throttle or a Raging Inferno, which will die in the heads.
On hevay oil, a Super Carbide Bomb will be a much stronger ball and a bigger hooker than Barrage.
It's all in finding the right ball for the right condition for your release and delivery.
On a bone dry condition, my Blue Dot will kill your Raging Inferno.

With the balls I have used, The ball that no matter what I
did I could never get it on the right side of the head pin
was the Super Carbide bomb. I would throw it over the 6 or 7
board on the left side out to about 4-5-6 or 7 board on the
right side and still take out only the 7 pin. I could only
use that ball if the lanes where absoulty flooded. But when
they were flooded it was an awsome ball..

The strongest ball I've ever thrown is the AMF Victory (aka Fusion Hook Monster). Whether or not it was the biggest hooking ball depends on the lane conditions.

Cogito ergo bowl

Track enforcer "red/white" and the hammer spike hpt were strong late hookers and the visionary midnight scorcher is the earliest arcing ball for me.

...As is so often the case, Charlest got it right. There is no one answer to this question.

Lane 1 - The Bowlers Company
Nothing hits as hard as an Uranium
-
Rags, Brick,
Thank you, but that is just my opinion; it may not be everyone's. As in many bowling issues, there is often no right or wrong.

medium oil: hammer vicious
light oil: lane #1 cherry bomb

My answer would be:
Heavy oily: The Arc. The most aggressive ball that I have ever thrown. After ninety games, I could pick up ten pins with it. I currently grow marigolds out of the finger holes.
Medium oil: The Revmaster. The best, most hooking, least expensive, medium performance ball that I have ever owned.
Bone dry: ??? That is a good question. I think any unaggresive ball with more ball speed is good. When they are this dry, you have to hit the ball less, increase your speed and play through the middle. That is why people with less bowling talent bowl well under this condition, while good or excellent bowlers struggle in this condition. If you are a good bowler, you basically have to try and forget everything that you have worked so hard to learn, when bowling in this condtion. Less hit, less fingers, less hand, more speed. That is why bowlers with half a hand bowl well under this condition. Pick a non-aggressive ball and go!

There is only one answer to this question. The orginal Blue Hammer. It out performed anything on the market in the late 80's.
-
Ebonite blue Wolf
Ebonite V2 sanded
Columbia Aftershock
These are the hookiest of what ive thrown.
-
Swamp Monster
Power Diesel
Trauma Response
They are probably the most aggressive.
-
Maybe not the best ball for anyone else but for me it's got to be the Piranha
-
My diesel particle is a strong ball, so i'll go with that....i haven't thrown enough else to say otherwise...
--------------------
Boom.
-
Strongest hooker of all time? Easy. Here it is!
1. Ebonite Rip Tide
2. Ebonite Tombstone
Left in the box condition, I couldn't get them past about 45ft before they hit the left channel. Even the guy who twirled the ball ( who by the way bought them from me) had to shine them up to throw them.
I don't know where on earth you could throw them bad boys, maybe if they started using 10w50 or something, but otherwise not possible for me!
--------------------
Just call me Darreyl, it's much easier to say!
-
Biggest hooking ball for me was (and still is I guess)the X-it. Could use that ball on a THS, heavier sport shot, longer pattern, and even on carrydown as long there was some head oil. There have been others, but the X-it has always come in handy when needed.

"Oh wow, its a scooner."
"Its not a scooner its a sailboat."
"A scooner is a sailboat stupidhead!"
"YOU KNOW WHAT?!? THERE IS NO EASTER BUNNY!!! OVER THERE THAT'S JUST A GUY IN SUIT!!!!!"
-
My Revmaster really turns the corner hard. It even goes harder than my Unleashed!
--------------------
Evolutionary. Revolutionary.
-
Well this will be an odd one to add to the list, the Cuda/C 2000. I was struggling the other night with my P. Unleashed so just out of curiousity, I pulled my old Cuda out, and it broke way more than the unleashed. In fact, so much more I had to make a 6-3 adjustment, and pick up my ball speed to hit the pocket. However once I did that, I promptly struck 14 out of 16 frames, including a nice 264 last game.
Still, the most controllable ball with the most consistent reaction I have ever thrown. I think at times I gotten myself so wrapped up in the fun of some of the new balls that I fail to stick with a truly great ball.
-
I have thrown lots of balls from lane 1 to you name it. But the strongest ball I ever had was the storm thunder road pearl. very very strong backend when its clean and tacky. 2nd was vortex particle only when it was new after 15 games the reaction from that ball was nothing near to what it was out of the box. 3rd is the new full throttle.
--------------------
HOOTERS RULES!!!!!! Anyone AGREE?????
-
have any of you guys thrown or seen the new columbia detour??? that's one hookin' mutha!!!!! i have never seen a ball go more coast to coast than this one . . .
--------------------
That which does not kill me makes me stronger . . .
-
Strongest ball in every part of the lane was my
Ebonite Pantera drilled Revs leverage, Early, Strong midlane,
and BIG almost snappy backend. And what hit!
It was always too much or barely could be contained. A nice weapon to have.
2nd for me was a Rasberry Buzzsaw, 4 X 4 with high Top Weight!
Where I could use that?
REgards,

The Brunswick Black Beauty is a hook monster! Mine had a label drill on it, so it was pretty aggressive.

When people ask this question they need to specify the biggest hook in what part of the lane. The biggest hooking ball throughtout the whole lane in my perspective is a toss up between the fear factor and the ultimate inferno. I have the ultimate and i have used it on pure oil and been able to swing the ball on shots where the big blue and the unleashed wont turn over. The biggest backend ball i own is the x-factor, but i dont belive it is even close tothe biggest hooking backend ball of all time. Surprisingly i think the brunswick green command zone pearl has the biggest backend move i'ver ever seen. It just amazes me how angular that ball is. Remember that this is an opinion based poll, so don't get mad at what any1 else says.
-
for a short time, I had a Lane1 Silver Diamond with a 3.5 inch pin out, pin next to ring, cg by and just above the thumb hole with a thumb quadrant axis hole....throwing on a medium to medium heavy house shot with SCREAMING backends!
3 board at 48 ft,...it was coming back!

Better....much better!
