Either way probably works. Some people try to leave junk for themselves to pick up. Others throw at corner pins and hope they jump around a lot and leave stuff like the 1-5-8-10. Doesn't matter what pins you're throwing at, the key is accuracy, then you'll be able to pick nearly anything up. Another thing is simple targeting. See where you're standing, and then line up the pin with whatever arrow the ball will be crossing, and where you're going to be laying it down. I usually lay it down around 34 for 10 pins, and it crosses around 4th arrow in a straight line. So if you know you lay it down at 34, just throw it at 4th arrow, and it'll automatically pick up the 10. It's a lot easier when your target is closer.
