How to attack the Vienna Open 2009 Pattern
« on: September 18, 2009, 11:57:26 PM »
Greetings!

I will be heading out to Vienna in early October to bowl the Vienna Open and was hoping to get some ideas on where to play the shot at. Here is the graph from Kegal..

Thanks!

You need to know what type of lane and/or surface it is, as this can and will dictate as much as anything. Also the pattern looks similar to a christmas tree pattern which generally allows multi angles depending on ball speed and rev rate.
But find out what type of lane they will be competing on.

7-9 breakpoint.  How you far down the lane and how much angle is used through the front part of the lane will depend on the surface and how you throw the ball.

That is only at the beginning..the lanes will transition to how the field plays them.

The biggest difference in oil ratio seems to be between 10 and 5, so I'd say try something straight up between those two and just take it from there.  Try the gutter, try balls deep, and see if the lanes themselves show any hold/bounce.

Good luck!

That seems to be the conclusion me and my friend came up with and were just wondering if anyone noticed something else..

Last year in vienna i qualified in top 16. played up arround 9-10 with breakpoint arround 7-8, with high speed and high revs, played with a momentum swing, drilled 5½ above fingers and a light 500 abralon on machine. used the ball for all 6 series, and by the end of game 6 i was at 15 at the arrows with same breakpoint. on ebt they often use a similar patterns several years in a row. but stay right as long as possible and increase ball speed rather than move left

You can play swing shot or down in. There is heavy out of bounce outside the 6.

break point looks like  7, 8 ,9 board so aslong you can hit that area you are good.

I would go with hammer Burn or VE but depends on lane surface
