Strongest Pearl out there?
« on: August 04, 2011, 05:41:03 AM »
Looking for something to handle the high side of medium oil on longer patterns?

What do you like?

I've used the Mutant Cell Pearl with success, but currently I'm loving the 900 Global Profit. It handles oil great for a polished pearl.

I have one and didn't care for it a whole bunch. I have a cell pearl, which or pretty good, but get squirty on heavier oil for me.

Pick almost any of them, drill it to rev up early and maybe knock the shine off the OOB finish if needed. I hace a Power Groove like that and it will handle some longer patterns very well.

I have a Storm Anarchy I use on that type of lane condition.Like kid stated I sanded it with 2000

US grade sandpaper to take the shine off.Works very well on the longer and  heavier side of medium.

Inverted 1,

Are you thinking of a POLISHED pearl?
Yes, there are some very strong polished pearls out there, especially ones with asymmetric cores, but recently several manufacturers have issued pearls with a dull surface that act more as medium-heavy to heavy oil balls. One of the first was the Columbia OutBurst. The newest is probably the Critical Theory. There are probably some older ones which the manufacturer did not indicate whether it was a solid or a pearl.

But what I am implying is that there are probably many polished ones that will handles a lot more oil if they are sanded to P2000 to P4000 grit.

Try looking at the Seismic Raging Bull Charged.

Or polish up a solid.

If you are looking for a strong backend reacting pearl, then the C*(System) ulti-max is the ball for you.  I drilled mine up last week, and the first time that I threw it down lane I was awestruck by the way it made the left turn around 45 feet down lane on the Scorpion oil pattern.  The ulti-max clears the front part of the lane, reads a little in the midlane, and then redefines backend continuation through the pins.  I can keep moving left and chase the oil deeper, and it still has enough power to carry the 10 pin.  Also, there is a $50 rebate for this great new ball.  Another pearlized ball I would recommend would be the Loaded revolver.  The Loaded has a lower RG core to get the ball in an earlier motion than the ulti-max.  The Loaded has a smooth arcing motion and can handle heavier oil by adjusting the coverstock.  Plus, there is a $40 rebate on the Loaded Revolver.

DestroyR is a pearl hybrid, strongest ball on the market.

Even stronger than the nano.

Inverted 1, check out the Critical Theory, which will be released next week. Kinda like the Cell Pearl on steroids. The dull surface also keeps it from getting squirty. I threw the Critical Theory, QZ2, Eruption, Ulti-Maxx, Marvel Pearl, 503C, and OMG Pearl the other day and thought the Critical Theory had the strongest reaction. The Marvel Pearl was too smooth, though it could probably handle the higher side of medium. The 503C was also very strong, and carried very well. I don't know that it has a LOT of pearl in it, though it's advertised as such. The Eruption was also strong, but for me it checked up too quickly and didn't really save much for the back end. The others I listed were pretty squirty for me, and this was on a dryer condition. Of course, your results may vary, but for a pearl ball, the Critical Theory gets my highest recommendation, especially if you have some oil on the lanes.

Get a Midnight Vibe or a Freeze. That's probably all you will need

I'm in the process of trying to find out where I fit in the bowling world. I do not know my tech specs of my game, but it's all a learning process.
