Saw a lefty bowling, he was hitting the pocket almost every shot and he wasnt very good. I asked him how he liked the left side, he said it was good except it was dry. he was playing the first arrow at 15 mph!!! Where do pple come up with this sh_t?

Exactly what I was getting at here. Glad someone else was on the same page as me. Cuz others on here just turned it into, I hate straight bowlers, I hate bowlers carrying a 140 avg complaining....etc. Straight bowlers and people bowling a 140 will always be part of the game. Deal with it all you high and mighty bowlers. Or like he said...go pro if you're so good.

Hey cappy,I don't think posters here hate straight bowlers, we hate everybody equally..wink!!

Seroiusly, u have legitimate complaints, then there is the downright stupid as* complaint... An example will always be the lower ave straight bowl complaining about the oil.. Its ridiculous really.. But also applies to lower ave hook bowler, who doesn't want to move more than a board to adjust..

I just get sick of hearing people say anything about lefties. Most of the time it's people who throw the ball like trash too. I'm the first to admit, being a lefty has it's advantages in some formats, but we still have to throw the ball.

That being said, I've seen some lefties that throw the ball all over the place and score, and I've seen righties do the same thing, but complain about the lefties.

There is a certain bowler in our area, who is decent, but not great. Anytime he's in an event that I'm in, he watches me. I'll be smoking my mark all day, but the first time I miss by any amount of boards at all and carry, he's right there to tell me I missed. I just tell him, "I just aim for the left side of the head pin."

That makes me laugh.

i just heard this one at the pro shop this afternoon.

during the local city tournament friday night and guy had the ball stick on his thumb and go straight up-out. He then in turn ran out onto the lane and tried to catch the ball. slipped and fell onto arse and the ball landed on the side left side of lane and bounced onto the lane left of him. He stood up picked up the ball and promptly walked back from the arrows in the middle of the lane and down the approch.

with that my thoughts are he was bowling bad and wanted everyone else to suffer too. the person telling us about it wasn't sure if booze was involved.

Ever hear the expression "a little bit of knowledge is worse than none at all" ? Sometime inexperienced bowlers think they are encountering conditions they have heard about when other more experienced bowlers have complained. Is understandable, but funny.

My wife is a career 70 bowler (that's 7-0...NOT 170), and has heard me complain/comment over the years about lane conditions being too oily, etc...

I won't go into the details of her delivery, but she occasionally will dump a ball into the gutter not more than 3-4 feet down the lane, and then will proclaim with full conviction, that the lanes are too oily !!!!

I laugh when someone misses their target by 10 boards, hits the pocket and doesn't carry, only to say that they were robbed..
