Question about Doc's Magic Bowling Ball Elixir?

If I use a ball cleaner on my equipment, is the Elixir removed
totally, and have to be reapplied?

How durable is the  Elixir? I imagine Scotchbrite removes it, totally, and it would have to be reapplied.

Ordinary ball cleaners have no affect on Doc's Elixir. The elixir chemically bonds to the coverstock. To remove it, you have to resurface the ball.

As far as Doc has ever commented and as far as everyone's experience here has indicated, myself included, just like ttforshort has said, ONLY sanding can remove the Elixir/Elixer.

I was wondering about that. A person could go through a lot of Magic Elixir if Cleaner removed it.
