Suggest a layout for me
« on: February 12, 2013, 07:37:53 PM »
I have a new ball coming, well not new but new to me. I bought a Blue warlock from Charlest.
I have one in 16 right now but i no longer throw 16.

My arsenal consists of:
Nexxus- OOB not sure of drilling, pin to the right of ring
C system 3.5- 4000 abralon, drilled similar to the Nexxus
Mutant cell- 2000 abralon, drilled pin between and above fingers
Motive Ascent pearl OOB, pin under and between fingers

I am a high tracker PAP is 5 over 1/2 down, more up the back of the ball, 350-400 revs 16.5-17 MPH.

Seems like i get alot of midlane read with whatever i roll, except for the pearl. I mainly stick to solids, they work for me.

I guess i am looking for something condition specific, when the lanes are tougher that i can fall back on for a smoother reaction. Like a ball drilled just for nationals. Maybe a Rico drilling? not sure that is why i am asking.

Nationals does not really need something strong
weaker and predictable, some say symmetric worked best last year

i had a track 300T, pin down, weight hole in PAP and some surface, worked great
Rico is pretty condition specific, pin just under fingers could be smoother and controllable
You really need to find a good pro shop and have them watch you
On here, you will get many differnt suggestions

If you can find a pro shop with the blueprint software, then you can input specs, layout, lane conditions, etc and see your ball motion before you drill it.
That software is awesome

Thank you Dave,
The warlock is symmetrical. And it is a stronger cover. I have strong solids and that is what i use on the fresh to tame down the over/under.

I did not really need the blue warlock, but it is one of my favorite balls of all time. And it was available in 15 lbs. So i had to buy it. Maybe i will put it in the closet and drill it at a later date. As i think i already have it covered in my bag.
