Title: Suggestion on bowling balls
Post by: ronaldhjr on June 13, 2012, 06:22:26 AM
I have a taboo jet black (Box finish) drilled pin under bridge and CG swing out (I am right handed) and a misfit drilled the same way at 1000 wet sanded.  I am looking for a ball that would fit in between this huge gap I rather go with the same layout pin down cg swung out.

Any ball suggestion and company is fine with me.

PAP: 4 11/16 3/4 down
Speed: 17-19.5
Style: Stroker

That's a pretty big gap, and tons of balls will fit in there.  You've given some good info.  Before a list of 100 balls gets started that will all fit....let's make sure of something...What shape do you want the ball to make downlane?  Would you rather the ball be more angular or earlier and continuous?

I would like the ball to be more angular and not flip off the spot, not early at all and at the same time not so smooth it reads way to late down the lane.  I have no problem playing around with surface if need be.

My first thought is something like the new Endure coming out by Ebonite.  It is in the mid price point.  Also, the V5 core is a great core and to top it all off, it is a hybrid cover, which will should you more angularity than the Misfit at that 1000 abralon cover prep and yet still be controllable.  I recommend this ball because it has the same core as the Elevate and that ball is a highly underrated piece.  My son has been averaging 230 with that ball since I drilled it for him and his "normal" average is around 200.  I would even recommend the Elevate if you can get one but since the Endure is a hybrid version with the same core, this ball sounds like a winner!

another ball i would recommend is the new Columbia Violent Eruption, ball will give you the length you are looking for and give you a controllable motion on the backend.  This ball comes out next week to the public and is also a mid price point ball.

New AMF Bull Whip or AMF OMG Pearl. Super clean and can be flippy with the right drilling.

I would have to second the Bull Whip that is going to be released here soon. It isn't really sharp off the spot but turns the corner nicely.
