Thoughts on Pattern A
« on: March 30, 2004, 11:11:48 PM »
Bowling in a regional this weekend on Pattern A, and this only being my second regional, (the last being on E), and just looking for some thoughts from people familiar with the shot on how it usually plays, high or low scoring pace, and what to expect.  Also the house is synthetics.  Thanks for any information you can provide.

Take balls that read the midlane, arcing layouts. Dont try to do too much to the ball, stay in your comfort zone (50% power and 50% hand). Dont foucs so much at the early target but be real focused at the end of the oil. Watch others who are being sucessfull and where there ball is at the end of the oil. Then play your shot, within your game, to get to the same spot. Stay focused and react to what your ball reads. Dont assume you made a bad shot if you are not convinced you did. Dont try another same shot if your previous shot was not good unless you are 100% sure that you made some error. Be proactive... little moves rather than big moves.

Ok... now go bowling...LOL

Thanks for all of the great advice.  I guess it will be making sure I hit my spares well, to keep my scores up near where they will need to be.  I will probably be going with my Big Blue for control, Fear Factor if I need more hook, since I keep it dulled, or Hot Wire or Sonic X if I want to just try and play it simple and straight.  Thanks again everyone!
