Summer League Averages
« on: July 31, 2008, 10:15:17 AM »
As the summer league season comes to a close, I was just wondering how people are doing so far? Did you have a goal to hit for average? Are you at that point yet or do you think you can get there in the last handful of weeks? Maybe it's just me being excited about having a new average, I haven't bowled a league since the '02-'03 season. Well considering my last average (when I was a junior) was 193 and I had set my goal at 220, I'm pleased with where I am sitting so far. I have 3 more weeks of league and am sitting at 229.5 right now, with a new goal of 230!!!

So how's the summer treating you guys? Average going up or down, or about the same?

I've made it a point to not use the same ball two weeks in a row, regardless of how well it may have worked previously. I'm finishing at 221, which is close to where I expected, I guess.

Goal was 215, actual is 206, needless to say with about five weeks left this ain't happening.

I'd say the summer league is treating me fair but I'm not treating my game fair.  I need to step it up mentally.

Scratch league has about 3 weeks left....my goal was to not bowl anything under 600. I have missed it twice, but I am averaging 221.....completely satisfied!

In my handicap league I think I'm averaging 201 with 4-6 weeks left.  I wanted to reach 210 but I've been struggling with my physical game like every other week so that makes it a bit difficult.  I normally carry 200-205 in a league anyways so I'm about where I normally am, I was just hoping to do better especially since the house this league is in is one of the easier ones around, as long as you have a good ball to lane matchup.

I'm also doing a PBAX singles league.  My goal going in was to average 180+.  After some tough weeks and a few good ones, I'm sitting at 182 with another week left before the top 5 goes to step ladder.  I'm in 4th or 5th too so no complaints here.

That's awesome good job! I've been looking for a fall PBAx league but the options around my area are limited.

my goal was to finish the season respectfully with a bum wrist(surgery coming in a few weeks).  and i finished mens league with 202.  and am at 195 in mixed league.  good enough for me seeing how 2 1/2 weeks ago i had to drop to 14lbs cause my arm & wrist couldnt take the heavier weights.  i feel like a sissy/lulu throwing the 14

Been doing abit better in my first PBAX league the last three weeks but still could have done better with avoiding the splits. Shot good tonight in the first game of 223 with using my Complete NV for the first time. Right now I'm at 182 with three weeks to go.

I haven't done anything special this Summer and there's only 4 weeks left. The average stands at 215, I was looking for 220+ as my local lanes are not known for their high scoring pace. Summer for me is just a way to keep my swing ready for the Winter
