Summertime Bowling
« on: April 24, 2008, 03:46:55 AM »
I was wondering what kind of tournaments some centers run over the summer. Im looking at getting one started at my local center, but since its summertime i know it should be fun and fair to everyone plus still be competitive. Im not looking to duplicate anybodys idea just build off of them and add my own little twists that would work in my center. Any ideas???

9 pin no-tap tourneys are always fun and if you get 100 plus people, it definitely gets competitive.

Around me, there are zero tournaments in the summer

We have one GIANT one near the end of August that's 300 bucks to join.  Too rich for me

we run a 9 pin tap league over the summer that usually has 40 teams of 4. Im trying to convince him of a 0 pin tap tourney, but so far no go. Maybe he might go for he plastic only tourney. I think he is trying to make it to serious over the summer. Any more ideas? even if your center doesn't have one what would you like to see them do?

I would like to see a scotch doubles tournament. Since my partner is normally right handed I see a lot of unusual stuff being left handed. No tournaments in this area so I am sol.

I have a proposal of scotch doubles with many others just trying to get more on the best ball talk website. My scotch doubles though is one where you actually qualify as doubles partners then when you get to match play its scotch.
