Regarding the players, I believe they are adapting because it appears that the money (Fox) says this is better for ratings. Ratings means money that they can win.
Face it. No bowler is used to that type of noise. Not referring to the decibel level, but the unison singing of this or that. It's abnormal. We don't hear it in the rowdiest of leagues or tournaments, so it's abnormal. Can they get used it? Sure.
Let's say you're Joe Pro and you have the front 9 strikes and they start singing at the top of their lungs for you, don't you think there would be a tendency to try harder on the 10th, 11th, or 12th ball?
It's human nature to want to please the crowd that is so energetically cheering for you. However, those of us who have plenty of honor scores are trying to stay calm and do the exact same as the previous 11 shots to optimize carry on that final shot, rather than trying to do more to the ball to make it "really carry" and leave the 4 pin or worse on the last shot because we wanted to throw it "better".
The players will adapt if this is the direction things will go, but silently I would bet each bowler faced with the important shot of his career, might rather hear himself think. Just my .02 on the subject of scripted fan behavior.
