No-Tap tourney?
« on: March 31, 2004, 11:03:18 PM »
What is a No-Tap tourney?
--------------------
Winning and Losing are both very temporary things. Having done one or the other, we move on. Gloating over Victory or Sulking in Defeat is a good way to Stand Still.

9 pins on your first ball=a strike..........every other leave is scored the same...they are fun if you've never done it

so if I get 8 pins, My score is an 8 and I do not throw a ball trying for a spare?

9 or 10 pins = strike?

It is a Pro-am tourney. $125 entry, everyone gets a new Ball.
re-entry is $55 with no ball given.

I was in the Proshop today and the guy handed me a flyer and said I should enter it.

No.....
If you throw and get a split, 8 count ..... you have to pick it up, or it's a 9-

So, if you throw and leave a 10 pin,...that is a strike!! But if you leave more than 9, you must pick it up completely for a spare

KEV .. I agree with everyone .. 9 pin NO TAP is a lot of fun. In the PRO-AM they usually bowl with 4 on a lane one of which is a PRO. The PRO will change every game (this way you get to bowl with three different PRO's). The PRO also bowls NO TAP and at the end of each game .. the PRO's score and your score is recorded to establish YOUR total score!

Like what was said before .. 9 pin NO TAP allows the bowler to get a STRIKE when you get a STRIKE or 9 PINS on the first ball. Any other leave on the first ball you shoot for the SPARE!

If you go .. they give you a PBA YEAR BOOK .. that has all of the ACTIVE members pictures .. you can get the PRO's to autograph their picture! It's a fun thing that I go too whenever the opportunity arises!

Hope you get to it!
