Superstitions and Bowling

What superstitions do you have with bowling?

I have to cut my nails before bowling...doesn't really affect my game, but if I forget I feel naked...

Also got have my lucky baseball cap...so I can turn it backwards...

lets see, taco bell for lunch on league nights. wipe the bottom of both shoes before steping on to the approach. reason: one night in my 4th step my pushoff foot slipped almost busting my azz and fouling. 1st time i have ever fouled in league.

wipe my ball off (have to spin ball 3 times)and throw the
towel on the chair on the opposite lane so that I can do
the same routine next frame.  If there is a delay...slow rack,
fallen pin have to get towel and start over. Have to also
remove wallet and change before starting to bowl.

I have in the past worn the same shirt bowling if I am on a good streak, and yes I do wash it every week.  If my luck went south, so did the shirt.  But lately, it did not matter what shirt I wore when I bowled bad, so I just grab one now.  I too also have to empty out my pockets, except for my wallet.

Okay first I move my watch to my other hand, and second, when I line up I'm looking down at my shoes, on the top of my shoes I wrote SLOW DOWN.... That is my constant reminder not to rush my approach and to take my time...

I like to have the same chair in the pit area and I before we start, I take off my wedding ring, kiss it and put in my "condom" pocket of my jeans.

I have a superstition that my BR wristband is bad bad luck...shooting terrible since I got it after tossing the ball great for 3 months

Spin my ball 3 times in my lucky Storm microfiber towel.  Wipe the bottom of my slide shoe.  Dry hand on blower (even if it's not working).  Hold ball in left hand, place left foot on the board I'm starting on, move right foot into postion, stick fingers in holes, then thumb, etc.  Not so much superstition as pre-shot routine.  If I don't do it though, it's goin' in the gutter!!

I have a teammate who SWEARS if there is a split next to you, or especially if there are 2 of them by you, that you will leave one too.  I love nothing more than jumping right up there when there are splits all around and freaking this dude out!  Nothing like burying the pocket for that "X" and asking him "What are you worried about?"  LOL.  Maybe I'm just mean...

one i picked up from my team if ethier the left or right of me a split is on the lane i prefer they pick it up/shoot at it before i go up to bowl ,silly but i do it
