those trick shots on tv
« on: January 06, 2005, 12:05:48 PM »
I always thought they were stupid and took away from the show.  I still do, but today made me realize why they do it.

So anyway, im bowling with friend.  Were on our last game, he doesnt feel like bowling anymore, so he just starts messing around. He lofts it over the guttercap, throws it with his other hand, throws it under his legs, throws 2 balls at once, lofts it as far as possible, you get the idea.  Meanwhile, im in the ninth frame of what would be a 268 game, and im striking at will.

This lady comes up and says to my friend, "wow you are really good! i dont know how you can do all that.  i mean your friends getting a lot of strikes, and thats nice and all, but you threw a strike with 2 balls! Thats awesome!"  That quote is basically word for word.

So theres comes my realization.  I was throwing strikes all over the place, but got pushed aside because someone next to me can throw a strike with 2 balls.  Suddenly, the reasons for showing that arent quite as surprising anymore.

It's offical, chicks dig tricks..... whatever that means!

It is what it is.

The strike in the fourth frame is just as important as the one in the tenth.
