Survey- Trade turn-around times

I recently did a deal with a member here that was finalized last Sunday.  I shipped the ball Monday.  My ball has not shipped yet.  I was told it would ship tomorrow.  Honestly a week seems like plenty of time, to me, to be able to ship a ball.  What do you guys think about this?  I've never waited more than a couple days to ship and I tried to keep the user updated as to the status.

Knowing my life, I can see how a day or so can easily turn into a week.  It isn't right, of course.  I frequently find myself thinking of something I have to do but I'm not in a position to do it.  By the time I am, I've forgotten about it.

No, it shouldn't take a week to ship unless there are outside issues like being sick, vacation,...  Even then, the buyer should be kept informed.

I've done many deals/sold/bought here and the time from closing a deal to someone shipping has always been a 'sore spot' to me. I'll admit I'm in a different position as I have UPS or FedEx stop by several times a week. I am only 3 blocks from UPS and 4 blocks from the FedEx location so it takes me hours to box/label/get to one of them but taking more than a day or two at max seems to long, to me.

As shelley said, things happen and I know that but it's quick and easy to get back in here and shoot the other guy a message that the dog died or the cat was eaten by a hippo just what ever the reason is/was as to why the ball hasn't been shipped. My wife and I read the paper and watch the news about folks getting a divorce as Hulk Hogan is, I guess, and the one question we always have...Doesn't anyone talk to each other anymore ?

Keeping the other party informed is key, to me, one way or the other, just let the other party know what's going on no matter what.

I agree with azguy...communication is the key. As long as the other person is keeping you updated, I would feel ok with the deal. When the messages quit being answered, then there is a problem. To answer your question, if they told you it might be a week, then ok. But if not, I would have a problem with it taking so long!

I've always used this adage.  If you have enough time to post on this site....you have time to drop a ball off at UPS/Fedex/USPS.  

I also tend not to want to do any trades/buy/sell with younger folks.  No they aren't ALL bad but for the most part I have seen many bad experiences with the younger set.  Why?  Basically, because they have not had that work ethic instilled in them nor responsibility. JMO.

I've never had a bad experience here on BR.com either.  I always do say in any listing I've made here.  I'll ship NEXT business day after payment when selling and expect the seller if I am buying to do the same.  

Treat your fellow bowler the way you want to be treated is my stance.
