Does sweating a ball in the sun make it lose its hook in any way? I just put my 'freak out' in the sun for 35 minutes wiped it off, then flipped it and it looked like it ran a marathon, really oily, beaded drops on top of the ball. And i take reasonably good care of the ball. Clean it with clean 'n dull, wipe it off before every throw, etc.
I've heard so many contradictory things. Baking is bad. Baking is good. You can only do it 3 times in the ball life. Do it every 50 games. Sweating makes chemicals sweat out of the coverstock. Sweating removes oil. If you leave it in the trunk of your car you should be ok.
It's really hard to sift through all the different tips, especially when some seem to indicate damage that may result of other tips. So my question is, will this (sun tan for the ball) make my ball lose its hook?
